The statistics in this book include total sales of medicinal products with an approved marketing authorisation in Norway. The figures included in this book represent sales from wholesalers to pharmacies, hospitals and non-pharmacy outlets.
The figures in the book give an overview of sales from wholesalers to retailers. It should be empha-sised that sales from wholesalers are not necessarily equal to what is actually consumed. The source of the data should always be considered when inter-preting and evaluating drug use and the necessary limitations should be included in the conclusions.
The statistical material is sorted according to the ATC classification system, and Defined Daily Doses are employed as units of measurement.
The ATC/DDD version valid from January 2011 is used in this edition.
